Main Street Banners
Part of the
Drawn Together by Kindness 2020 Community Art Project
Together, We Change.
The Project: The Art Board gave 16 Waupaca families one large 6x12 piece of Tyvek and specific bright colors of paint. The families were asked to outline their individual bodies in any position, making sure they all overlapped in some way. Where their bodies intersected, they were asked to change the paint color, representing the way we change each other through our interactions and associations.
Banner Creation: Art Board volunteers then folded and sewed the 16 large canvasses, creating 32 distinct, joyful and colorful banners. The banners hung on Waupaca Main Street streetlights, Aug. 7-19, announcing the Drawn Together by Kindness 2020 Community Art Project on City/Library Square.
Today: On Aug. 19, 2020, the City of Waupaca took down the banners, but the original artwork, and the banners each piece created, live on here on the Art Board website.
