Let your poetry take form!

Nov. 9-30, 2020

Sponsored by WCAB Poetry Committee & the Waupaca Area Public Library

Two Ways to Create Shape Poetry.

Filled-In Shape Poem

Select an image for inspiration.

Once your short, original poem is written, come up with an image that matches your poem’s topic.

Combine your poem and image on a computer and print out; or simply create by hand on an 8-1/2 x 11 page.

A simple design also can be created on a computer using only a word processor, like the tree shown here.

Outline Shape Poem

This shape poetry generator allows you to enter your original poem in the green font area. After you press enter, you can draw your shape with the cursor, and the words will follow.

Experiment several times with form to see where the words go, until you get something that reflects your poem. Save, print, and submit!

You’re also welcome to make an outline shape poem by hand.

Voila! The finished product elevates the simple poem into a sophisticated piece of art.
