Let’s Make This Happen
The Project
Using a select team of artists, the 3D Alley Art Project will turn existing building and alley fixtures -- such as pipes, stair rails, grates, and vents – into attention-grabbing, whimsical 3D mini murals. By enlivening back doorways and alleyways during Waupaca’s Main Street Renovation Project, we are creating a fun Downtown landscape for customers during Waupaca’s summer construction, and then for years to come.
Selection Process
A community-based jury will judge the 3D Alley Art submissions. Selected artists will receive a stipend of $150 per design upon completion.
Work is expected to begin in early May, depending on weather and city construction schedules, and run through the summer of 2021.
Materials
WCAB will furnish all materials and equipment, providing a paint palette of primary and secondary colors, as well as white, black, gray, and brown. You may mix accordingly. Each selected artist will be assigned a WCAB committee member who will work with the City of Waupaca, participating businesses, and their artists to determine appropriate work schedules, safety protocols, and promotion. Please refer to the Submission Form for more details.
